For our first frame, we have developed the Rukai to make the rider’s favorite choice who want to assemble a good versatile mtb for a price content. Able to go-up trails without being penalized by its weight, and to have fun in descents thanks to its flexibility controlled.
At Cydonia, we do not believe in the famous theory “a steel frame is less rigid than an aluminum one”. There are several parameters to take into account when designing the product, to arrive at the best compromise between flexibility and rigidity. It is after several hours of design, iterations on the choice of tubes with variable thickness, and several prototypes, that we ended up on the balance weight-resistance-flexibility-rigidity. And so that the rust does not come to disrupt all this, the tubes are ED treated internally / externally.
The latest standards are here : 27.5+ wheels, single chainring only, rear axle in Boost format, Stealth seatpost internal routing, external routing for other cables to simplify assembly. Tapered and integrated headtube to perfectly fit the fork crown and make a smoother overall design that is more pleasing to the eye.
